What's Your Jerusalem?

So...I've never watched this show, but I like playing this game where I guess what the writers of shows or movies are going to do before I actually see it. Its kind of annoying to people when we are watching a really good movie and I ruin the ending by making it seem predictable. This show is probably all about a wanna be Homer Simpson, and his antics that constantly make us laugh at its attempts to poke fun at familiar themes reminiscent to our real life yet wildly exaggerated. Am I close? Probably too easy of a target. I'm not trying to be cynical. I'd probably laugh at the show if I watched and episode. I just don't choose to. My T.V. selections are much more refined....NHL, NFL, C-Span, and PBS. I know--I'm weird.

Well, if you've been around me lately you notice that I keep referring to this crazy new idea that we find in acts 1:8 where Jesus, before being taken up to heaven in cloud of smoke, gives this strategy to His disciples "....and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Okay so....its not so crazy or new, nevertheless it has impressed upon me, as I look out onto a new frontier, to start with my "Jerusalem" before I get too far down the road. For me, my "Jerusalem" has been the closest thing to me--my family. I've always wanted to make them my priority, but sometimes that gets overlooked and neglected, which is odd because many times they are the reason I am engaged in the task that causes them to be overlooked. Weird. Anyway Heather and I have really been looking forward to ordering and re-ordering our life around this idea with the hope that we can fortify our family unit and live out our belief in Jesus Christ starting with our own Jerusalem.

I've never seen that show either, but it is supposed to be great. Can't be any better than the Simpsons, I agree. Glad you have a blog!! Hope to see you soon :)

Sounds like a God thing to me! Just want you know that we are praying for you all as you venture out into this new frontier. We just know that God has great things in store for you and your family. I am a believer - not a doubter! Love you all and plan on seeing you around! Hugs - The Adelsbergers
